Understanding Botox pricing

The total cost of Botox can be difficult to predict because a per-unit price does not reveal how many units your treatment will require.
Ask three clinics for a per-unit Botox quote and you may get three different rates. Even then, the lowest rate may not produce the lowest total. The final cost depends on the treatment areas, facial anatomy, muscle strength, treatment goals, recommended dose, and the neurotoxin product used.
Published dosing ranges can vary considerably. Forehead treatment alone may use approximately 10–17.5 units of Botox in women, and men often require more units because their facial muscles tend to be stronger. Units also cannot be compared directly across different neurotoxin brands.
A per-unit quote therefore tells you the rate, but not the final treatment price. Avinity's flat, area-based pricing is designed to close that gap by confirming the cost of each treatment area before treatment begins.
Significant weight loss, including weight loss associated with GLP-1 medications, can also change how facial lines appear. As facial volume decreases, forehead lines and crow's feet may become more noticeable, which can affect the areas or treatments recommended. See our guide to Botox after GLP-1 weight loss.

Product comparison
All five brands are FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A and all five work. What matters for this estimate is dosing scale. Dysport uses roughly 2.5 to 3 times the unit count of Botox for the same result, and Daxxify about twice. Xeomin and Jeuveau dose close to 1:1 with Botox. That is why the unit estimate moves when you change brands, and why a per-unit rate from one clinic cannot be compared directly against a per-unit rate for a different product.
| Brand | Units vs Botox |
|---|---|
| Botox | baseline |
| Dysport | ~2.5-3x the unit number, not the price |
| Xeomin | ~1:1 |
| Jeuveau | ~1:1 |
| Daxxify | ~2x |

Brand comparisons above reflect commonly used clinical conversions. Units are not interchangeable between products, per FDA labeling. Xeomin is formulated without accessory proteins, which may carry a lower theoretical risk of resistance over time. This has not been shown to be a guaranteed benefit for any individual patient.
Typical forehead dosing runs 10-17.5 units in women and 15-22.5 units in men, using Botox or Xeomin (the two brands with on-label approval for this area). Other brands are commonly used off-label at similar strength-adjusted doses. Your actual count depends on muscle strength and how much movement you want to soften.
The glabella (frown lines between the brows) typically takes 20 units of Botox in women and 20 units in men. This is the one area with an FDA-approved dose across all five major brands, though Dysport and Daxxify use their own unit scales.
Crow's feet (lateral canthal lines) typically run 15-24 total units across both sides in women and 20-25 total units in men with Botox, which currently holds the only on-label approval for this area among major brands.
Dysport is commonly dosed at roughly 2.5 to 3 times the number of units as Botox for a comparable effect. For example, glabella is typically 20 units of Botox versus 50 units of Dysport. These are commonly used clinical conversions, not an exact exchange rate: units are not interchangeable between products per FDA labeling.
Men generally have larger, stronger facial and neck musculature, which usually requires a higher dose to achieve the same softening effect. It is not that treatment "works less well." The muscle being treated is simply more powerful.
Avinity prices Botox by treatment area, not by unit, so your price is set before treatment begins rather than depending on however many units get used. Forehead lines are $199 for women and $275 for men, frown lines are $299, and the Upper Face Rejuvenation package (frown lines, forehead, and crow’s feet together) is $649 for women and $699 for men. Not necessarily the product itself. All FDA-approved botulinum toxin brands work. A rock-bottom per-unit price is more often a signal about what is happening around the toxin: injector experience, dilution, how carefully treatment is mapped, and whether follow-up is included. That is why per-unit totals vary so widely between clinics.
Not quite, but the differences are smaller than the price gaps suggest. All five FDA-approved brands (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Daxxify) work. What differs is onset speed, spread, typical duration, and brand recognition. See the product comparison table on this page for details.
It depends on the area. For a single region it often is: a lip flip uses only a few units, and 20 units can give a subtle forehead result in someone with lighter lines. But a full upper face (forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet together) usually runs 35–50 units combined. Use the calculator above to see typical ranges for the exact areas you’re considering.
A natural result usually comes from a conservative-to-moderate dose rather than the maximum. First-time patients often do best staying near the middle of the typical range for each area, which softens lines while keeping normal expression. Your injector can adjust upward over time once they see how your muscles respond.
At typical per-unit market rates, 20 units runs roughly $200–$320 depending on the clinic and brand, before any membership or consultation fees. At Avinity, Botox is priced by treatment area rather than by unit, so your price is set before treatment begins. Use the calculator to see the flat price for your specific areas.
No. A vial of Botox contains a fixed amount of active toxin. Dilution only changes how much saline is added, which affects how the product spreads, not its strength. So a lower per-unit price at a discount clinic isn’t explained by “weaker” product; it’s usually about what else is being charged for around the injection.
Published guidance places the maximum cumulative cosmetic dose at around 400 units within a three-month period. Typical cosmetic visits use far less, often 30 to 60 units total across several areas. Your injector tracks your cumulative dosing to keep treatment well within safe limits.
