Our compounded tirzepatide and compounded semaglutide are prepared for you individually by a state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacy, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved. We prescribe only after an evaluation by Virginia Henry, FNP-C, our nurse practitioner, and your plan is set for you.
Book online or call us. There is no consultation fee.
Meet our team at our Scottsdale clinic. We go over your health history, your goals and your current medications, and we calculate your BMI.
Virginia Henry, FNP-C, reviews your evaluation. If GLP-1 therapy is right for you, she approves a plan built for you.
Get your first injection at the clinic and pick up your medication. You get started following your medical evaluation and prescription approval.
Your medication comes as a 4-week supply of vials with syringes, available for pickup at our Scottsdale clinic. Vials must be kept cold, so we send you home with ice packs for the trip.
Both are once-weekly injections. Semaglutide acts on one appetite hormone pathway, GLP-1. Tirzepatide acts on two, GLP-1 and GIP.

BMI (body mass index) compares your weight to your height. Whether GLP-1 therapy is a fit starts with your BMI, your age and your health history.
You may be a candidate if:
GLP-1 therapy is not recommended if:
Talk with your provider first if you have diabetic retinopathy, a history of gallbladder disease, type 1 diabetes, or severe kidney impairment.
We calculate your BMI at your consultation. If your BMI is below 27, your provider reviews your situation case by case.

GLP-1 weight loss is gradual. Here is what the months after your first dose look like at Avinity, from dose changes to support between visits.
Slow, steady dose changes
Your provider reviews your dose about every 4 weeks and raises it only if you need it and are doing well on it. We never rush this step.
Common side effects
The most common side effects are digestive: nausea, constipation or loose stools. They are most noticeable when your dose goes up. If they happen, you stay on your current dose longer. Anti-nausea medication may be prescribed as needed, based on your provider's assessment.
Support and visits every 4 weeks
You check in with our team every 4 weeks, in person or virtually. Between visits, reach us by call, text, portal message or our after-hours line, and we respond the same day.
